all kinds

this may not be funny or profound or relevant or anything noteworthy at all to anyone besides me, but it's making me smile, so i wanted to share. please excuse me if this comes off a little smarmy...

i'm watching an odd scene from my desk here. there's one middle-aged, fully bearded divorcé in a polo shirt, plaid pants, white socks and sandals; a tall, skinny, self-professed "rodeo brat" in a snap-up cowboy shirt, wranglers, and boots; a short, staunchy tongan looking skaterish in a t-shirt, baggy jeans, and flipflops (or maybe it’s surferish... i can't decide.); and a married, red-headed, goateed wannabe (i’m not sure what it is he wants to be, but it’s something besides what he is… i think it’s tough) in khakis, a tommy hilfiger shirt, and glaringly white sneakers. they're all standing at the window with their arms crossed, leaning on the window ledge which is about tummy level. they're people watching, debating whether or not the people outside can see them, laughing about a person of indeterminable sex, and just generally chatting it up. they're all from very different walks of life and at very different stages, and they're just enjoying each other's company. i think it's so cute.
