all too well

today i went to happy hour with jeff and met one of his friends. jeff's beginning to catch on to my dilatory tendencies. when he called to fill me in on the particulars, part of the conversation went like this:

me: what time do you want me to be there?
jeff: if i tell you to get here at 4, will you get here at 4:15?
me: (with feigned indignance) i'll be there at 4.
jeff: okay. be here at 4:10.

so it got to be after 3, and i still hadn't showered... not because i was being lazy or anything; i just still had the smell of his cologne on the insides of my arms, and i didn't want to wash it off.

at the last minute (as usual) i got all cleaned up and went and picked him up. i got there at 4:13.

hey.  that's really good for me.

jeff's friends audrey and jo came. they're funny girls. i wish i wasn't so boring around them, but they mostly talked about people i don't know and alcohol (which i've never even tasted). the other day audrey was talking about a girl at her work who she really dislikes. her reasoning for this was because the girl is boring. aud said that every once in a while she's amusing, but most of the time she's just not. i'm afraid i'm going to be added to that list soon if i haven't been already.

hopefully jeff won't disown me over it.
